Overview
As a wizard (Wiz) you are supposed to support your Kingdom (KD) with spells. Spells cost Magic Points and Magic Points regenerate every Tax Season. The more intelligence you have the more Magic Points (MPs) you will have! (this means: the higher your maximum amount of MPs will be and the higher the regeneration) It's best to start with 50 intelligence, 50 warfare and 20 luck, since charisma does you no good at all. Just FYI, you gain 5.2 MP per point of INT (7.8 with well stones and Might and Magic), and you recover your full MP in 12 hours (7-8 with well stones and Might and Magic).

And for an analysis of them:
Divine Powers
Here is the order I would get them in, with reasons
- Bank of LutherVille (prerequisite for MapMaker)
- Map Maker (never attack without a map)
You can pick those later if you have someone (eg. your second character) to buy maps for you
- Book of Chance (Tears of Priets, Greedy Buddy)
- Might and Magic
- Book of Time (HA, HR, HC)
- Divine Intervention I to III (do these later if you are leveling slowly)
- Book of Destruction (PoL, Chaotic Hex)
- Book of Protection (RSD, etc)
- Book of Charm (HSD, BD)
- Use Item I to II
Well of Knowledge
More Magical Points & MP Regen are most important, you are a wiz so want more MPs and you want it fast! Get More Magical Points before MP Regen, doubly so since MP regenerates as a percentage of your maximum.
Ar Magica is also useful because you want your offensive spells to work, also against people with some Terror Resistance (TR). However, if you are getting spelled/op-ed a lot, you might go with TR. The 32% from Ar Towers + 12% from the well is a nce base of 44%. That's really good! Also, if you are the warlock, you'll get an additional 10%, bringing you to a minimum of 54%.
ToK to Consider
Check out Niels' Big Bad Guide to ToK, but here is some special tips just for the lazy...
War Tower
Sure thing, use it when you know someone is coming, together with chaos tower it's a nasty combo! It's best to destroy them after your invader's last week as they raise your PS quite a bit. This is expensive, but absurdely effective. Tower someone bottomfeeding you and you'll do a double take when you see the CP you are getting.
Ar Magica
Possibly the most cost effective ToK there is; build them after about 1 week has gone by.
Observation Tower
Build these things whenever you want to explore. Your architect houses means you can build them faster than you can do a round of exploration, so you don't even have to plan ahead!
Architect House
Must have, if you want to outtower an incoming target you will have to build your War Towers fast. Build a Choas Tower and enough War Towers, with Architect Houses you need 2 Hasten Constructions to get them all done in 4 FaitH days! Even if you don't tower people, get these... they are dirt cheap and
Sherlock Academy
Don't build it, useless you were dropped as a baby (I love that expression).
General Academy
Build these ASAP, but consider destroying after level 30... at that point, levels aren't *quite* as expensive, as you aren't gaining DPs anymore.
Chaos Tower
As I said, unmissable in a towering strategy! Destroy them along with your War Towers after the invasion ends though.
Magic Tower
Build one in every (open) corner, probably the best Intelligence tech! Gives you the travel time of your opponent, don't have to say more I guess ;)
Keeps
Only useful at high PS... Use Niels' army calc spreadsheet to determine if they are useful.
Conclusion: Build 3 Architect Houses and 3 General Academies + 1 magic tower in every open corner! Remember the Chaos Tower - War Tower - Architect Houses - Hasten Construction combo when you find out about an invasion (Magic Tower) and you have the time/gold to do something about it!
Gaining CP
Best way to gain CPs is attacking, that's not only for wizzards, that's for every class... I suggest you use your MPs for useful stuff, not for rodding or other crap. a hasten army, a Call of Avalon, a Tornado etc can help you or your KD mates win a battle!
You can also cast Chaotic Hex (600 MPs) which gives 30% extra Chaos! Points bonus during Wars.
Helping your KD
You can use the ES to post spell requests. There is a way to use the War Room, but it sucks! In the first place, you see when you sign in that there are new ES messages, so you don't have to remember to check. In the second place, it's an easier format to leave detailed explanations of what you want done (eg. only haste me between these times, or not at all), AND wizards can leave messages like "I'll do it at 12:00:00 [03/05/639]." As if these weren't enough of a reason, it's also easier to keep clean. There are only 2 people who can delete a request from the WR, but 5 people (more than 1/2 the KD) can moderate the ES. Much cleaner, more user friendly, and more effective!
Remember, your MP are not your own; they are KD property. Whatever petty waste of your MP you had planned is much less good that casting a chaotic Hex, HA, Greedy Buddy, and/or Tears of Priest on a KD-mate. Also, whenever you are in range of a person your KD is attacking, do a Curse of Targar.
Ahhh!!! Not enough MP to go around!
If you're out of MPs and there's an urgent spell request, you can ask a Merchant for Potions of Zircos. They raise your Magic Points about 220 points. Also, you've got to prioritize. At first, CoT are the priority, so a Tears of Priests request beats out everything else. Greedy Buddy is cheap, so you should try to use it whenever a good battle is going to happen, and definitely whenever an EP (endless purse) is being used. Chaotic Hex and HA are the next tier of spell... expensive, but hard to live without. These are why you get all those MP. Lastly, only when none of those things can be done should you use a CoA. Of course, in special, very close battle sorts of circumstances, CoA and tornado are more important.
