Strange Man Sidequest

  • Go to Lutherville in Noviaas City and talk with the panhandler (the guy sitting down). He will try to bribe you into ignoring him. Gain: 1 000 gp.
  • Go to Castle of Noviaas, talk with the guard and return several times (should be 3 or 4 times) until he lets you in on a secret about the panhandler.
  • Go back to the panhandler, who will give you a key to the Derpo Watch Tower.
  • Go to the Derpo Watch Tower, and then return to the panhandler. The panhandler will tell you to go to Dromnoya with 100 troops (make them your cheapest ones) to talk with a shaman there.
  • Send a general with 100 units to Dromnoya. After some horror and the death of your 100 units, you will get the help from the shaman. He will give you the items neccessary to exorcise the evil spirit of the Derpo Tower.
  • Go to the Derpo Tower in Noviaas and capture the spirit.
  • Return to Old Noviaas and tell the strange man about the trip. Gain: three shaman talismans. Use one on an enemy and it will blow up a building and kill 70 peons in each province - you will lose a building and 70 peons as well, so use it with precaution, be sure your Magic Resistance is maxed out and hope for the best.
    • Tip: Keep a cheap building, such as a chez faith restaurant, in the NW corner of your map.
    • Note: When the building is destroyed by the shaman talisman, the hex that it was on becomes unexplored. If you want to rebuild there, you'll have to explore it again.
  • Special Note for Trinity: If you are Trinitian, return to the panhandler one more time and talk to him. You will learn that he is a hopeless, and he will offer to join your army. Gain: Destroyer (unit, all destroyers in your army will blow up a single building in the first week of an offensive war)
