ToK to Consider

Luck is the branch of the Tree of Knowledge you want to invest in as a Rogue.

Guild of Saboteurs is the ONLY thing that you REALLY need on the Luck ToK. Tower of Fortune is also really good and I would definitely recommend it. As for the rest, don't bother if you want to keep trim. Blood baths can be good if you have a high recruit time unit such as Hell Wraiths or Angels (god forbid a rogue is Celeste). When you get to a high PS you can consider Headbasher Academies. Otherwise, I wouldn't touch any of the other buildings.

The absolute minimum to consider investing is 220 luck in order to get the Guild of Saboteurs, but I would highly recommend investing 300 luck before considering putting points into any other branch of the ToK. At 300 luck you 2% of all invading troops are killed beforehand thanks to the guild of saboteurs. A good combination is investing up to 300 luck for the guild, and then investing everything into Warfare. If you play well throughout the era you should be able to get up to at least mines and quite possibly higher. Mines coupled with your guild of saboteurs is a very nice start for all your defensive battles.

Another option is to just continue pumping the rest of your points into luck. This will give you a better chance for your ops to succeed as well as help defend against other rogue ops.

Those are the two strats I would recommend most.

Gaining CP

First off, as a rogue, you should know who is at war and who is at home. I shouldn't have to tell you to attack someone who is away. That is your main source of CP.

Your auxiliary sources for CP are your rogue ops:

Headbasher: Headbasher ops are your typical CP generating ops. Your best bet would be blowing up buildings. If you are having a lot of success blowing up buildings, continue doing so, but as soon as that stops working well you should switch to bashing peons.

Bash Units vs Bash Peons: Bashing units does not kill as many individuals as bashing peons does, which means you earn less CP since killing 1 unit gives as much CP as killing 1 peon. Unless you think bashing units will help win a battle, don't bother with it.

Clark, the Man of Steal: Clark ops are typically my favorites to use. Steal items is extremely useful at the beginning of an era before all the merchants have sent their items to their rogues, and even then you can get lucky off of another rogue and steal something good (I've stolen a Fury of Red Drago, 2 influxes, and 3 Dryad Breasts within just a couple days of each other from different merchants).

Steal gold from Emperor is another excellent op, but make sure you check out which are the wealthiest provinces. You can steal up to 5000 gold, of which you have to pay 500 as a fee, earning you 4500 gold on a good hit. 7 ops that take about 7 days each would earn you about 63,000 gold if you do 2 waves, 31,500 each wave. If you have stones in your operation speed WoK you can do ops in about 3-4 days each, meaning you could easily do 3-4 waves in a day. That's a lot of money.

Steal Children of Targar: It does work, but make sure you have your Operation Success WoK maxed out. If I've got gold to spare I will send out just Steal Children of Targar ops. First off, try not to target rogues or wizards, in particular no shadowmasters and no warlocks since they have a Terror Resistance bonus. Otherwise, go for whoever and cross your fingers.

As a last note, remember that you can reset your wok for a small sum. Luckily it is not an exorbitant price. If you are at war trying to kidnap kids, you can temporarily set your stones to 7 operations, send out the ops, reset the WoK and put stones into Operation Success for when the ops land, and then reset the WoK again to kidnapping before your battle lands. Likewise, if you only have 24 stones you can put them all into op speed, and then once you've sent 4 ops out you can reset the WoK to number of ops for your last 3 ops. This will get you 4 of those ops back in about half the time.

Moma ShadowCast These are the complimentary ops to Paul Itik. They let you know more info about your targets. You can learn about the exact makeup of an army, what class, religion, how much gold, and where kids are amongst other info.

Helping your KD

Mass Monitor Armies regularly on your opponents is the best way to help your KD. This gives them targets and lets them know if someone is attacking them.

Storage of items is another way to help out the KD since a rogue will find it much harder to steal from another rogue.
